New Stuff: Gear Compendium

Rather than constantly update trinkets and adding new posts for people to find, I’ve added a Gear and Trinket Compendium to the nav bar, under Gear.  This should serve as a one-stop-shop for all your trinket and gear needs.

Sims: Races

I have been meaning to do this for awhile, but other things kept hopping ahead in line. These sims were done using SimulationCraft’s Mythic profile (T19M), 1 Boss Patchwerk with an average fight length of 300 seconds.

As you can see, although Blood Elf and Draenei are at the top, the difference from top to bottom (not counting Pandaren – Fishbrul) is less than 1%. This means that you can literally play whatever you want and see little to no difference. So the obvious choice is Pandaren since they’re the only true Monk race.

Sims: Potions

The long awaited potion simulations including the new Potion of Prolonged Power are finally in, so you can stop asking me how it compares.

Basically, Old War is still very very very very(…) slightly ahead (0.2%) in single target, where as Prolonged Power pulls ahead with multiple targets. So if Prolonged Power is cheaper on your server, as it likely will be, then you’ll be perfectly fine.

Bonus Sims: Potions + Talents

A few weeks ago I ran simulations testing the current potions and the difference, with them, between Serenity and Whirling Dragon Punch. It showed that it was beneficial to, after the opener, use Potion of Old War at a different time from Storm, Earth, and Fire when talented into Whirling Dragon Punch. Since there was a new potion on the block, I thought I’d resim them to show how the new potion changes things, if at all.

As expected, Prolonged Power is better than Old War with Whirling Dragon Punch, this is largely because you can have the potion buff up for both charages of Storm, Earth, and Fire and then some. Old War is slightly stronger than Prolonged Power with Serenity  is because of the interaction between Old War and Serenity all piling into Gale Burst.

Hopefully, this answers more questions than it creates. As always you can find us on Discord to answer questions, and if you liked what you read don’t hesitate to scroll down or to the top and subscribe and support WtW.
