This is the very first build of a whole new development cycle, so be aware that more changes can be made in the weeks leading up to Tomb of Sargeras’s release. if you are upset about any changes discussed below, make your voice heard on the official PTR Discussion and Class Development forums. I advise is to remain civil and give actual feedback, not something along the lines “this sucks why would you do this??”. Make an argument for your point.
The very first build of the 7.2.5 PTR build has been pushed, and Blizzard has released their official notes detailing some mechanical changes and spell buffs for Mistweavers.
- Essence Font now has a 12 second cooldown and a duration of 8 seconds (was 6 seconds).
- Essence Font cost reduced by 10%, and direct healing increased by 23%.
- Vivify healing increased by 9%.
For total numbers, this is a 25.5% buff to Essence Font‘s total healing. Each bolt will instantly heal players for 135% Spell power and the HoT will heal for a minimum of 48% Spell power, increasing with Haste.
For Vivify, each player hit will be healed for 300% Spell power, with Uplifting Trance buffing that to 420% Spell power per target (450% Spell power per target with Ei’thas, Lunar Glides of Eramas equipped).
The Essence Font changes are the big thing to look at here, as it pushes Mistweavers into a more focused playstyle of using Essence Font as damage goes out, and following up with the options of Effuse, Enveloping Mist, Vivify, or Sheilun’s Gift (after building stacks through Effusive Mists) on targets affected by the HoT to gain as much value from mastery as possible, and as the situation calls for.
Removing the ability to chain spam Essence Font (along with lowering its mana cost) will definitely help newer Monks with any mana issues they may face, as well as opening up the possibility for our other spells without a cooldown to receive throughput changes in the upcoming build.
