When you kill an enemy, you get this fabulous healing orb on the ground. VERY USEFUL when doing quests or biting off more than you can chew with mobs.

 

Agility

Armor

Reduces Physical Damage. 1 Armor = 0.01% Physical damage reduction.

 

Artifact Weapon

Ascension

Ban Lu

Monk spec mount. Attained through a questline starting with Master Who? He talks to you… a lot.

 

Blackout Kick

Blackout Kick!

Proc from using Tiger Palm that allows you to use Blackout Kick for free. Don’t let this mess up your Hit Combo or Mastery: Combo Strikes.

Celerity

Level 30 Talent. Reduces Roll‘s cooldown from 20s to 15s and gives you a third charge. For information on how strong this talent is, see the Talent Guide Page.

 

Cenedril, Reflector of Hatred

Legendary Cloak. Increases the maximum size of your Touch of Karma damage from 50% of your maximum health to 125%. For more information about how strong this legendary is, see the Legendary Guide Page.

 

Chi

Windwalker’s secondary resource. Generated two at a time by Tiger Palm, used to power nearly all our other abilities.

 

Chi Burst

Level 15 Talent. Sends a ball of Chi forward in a line, healing allies and damaging enemies. For information on how strong this talent is, see the Talent Guide Page.

 

Chi Orbit

Level 100 Talent. Every 5s an orb of Chi spins around you, explodes for AOE damage upon hitting an enemy. For information on how strong this talent is, see the Talent Guide Page.

 

Chi Torpedo

Level 30 Talent. Turns your Roll into Chi Torpedo that travels a farther distance and gives you a movement speed bonus that stacks up to twice. Useful in situations where you need to move for farther distances or over longer periods of time, but not as frequently. For information on how strong this talent is, see the Talent Guide Page.

 

Chi Wave

Level 15 Talent. Launches a orb of Chi that bounces back and forth from enemy to ally, healing allies and damaging enemies. Always bounces 7 times, always alternates. If cast on an enemy, you’ll get 4 damage bounces and 3 healing ones, and visa versa if cast first on an ally. For information on how strong this talent is, see the Talent Guide Page.

 

Chi’Ji’s Battlegear

Monk’s Tier 21 set. For information on how strong this tier set is, see the Gear Guide Page.

 

Cinidaria, the Symbiote

Legendary Belt. Increases the damage you deal to a target by 30% as long as that target remains above 90% health. For more information about how strong this legendary is, see the Legendary Guide Page.

 

Crackling Jade Lightning

Channeled spell that costs energy up front then per second. Used only to tag mobs from range when out in the wild or to keep up Hit Combo when out of range of the target or when you have LITERALLY NO OTHER CHOICE!

 

Critical Strike

Secondary Stat. Allows an ability to do double damage or healing. For information on how strong Critical Strike is, see the Stats Guide Page.

 

D

Dampen Harm

Level 75 Talent. Reduces all damage from 20% to 50%, the bigger the damage, the more it reduces. Useful when encounters have large hits or prolonged periods of physical damage. For information on how strong this talent is, check out the Talent Guide Page.

 

Dave

The name, fondly given to the Ox that comes from Summon Black Ox Statue. Its a many year old inside joke, you had to be there. For more information see Summon Black Ox Statue under “S”.

 

Detox

Windwalker’s dispel ability that removes Poison (green outline) and Disease (yellow outline). Can be used to proc Sephuz. Use this for yourself, use it on others, HELP YOUR HEALERS.

 

Diffuse Magic

Level 75 Talent. Reduces magic damage taken and transfers magic debuffs back to the caster (really only in PvP). In PvE it generally just asks as a magic debuff (blue outline) dispel. For information on how strong this talent is, check out the Talent Guide Page.

 

Disable

Casted ability that reduces the target’s movement speed by 50%, or longer if you continue to melee attack the target. If the target is already slowed, then they are rooted in place. Almost never used in PvE, but useful in PvP. Can be used to proc Sephuz.

 

Drinking Horn Cover

Legendary Bracers. Increases the duration of Storm, Earth, and Fire by 0.4 seconds for every chi spent, and Serenity by 0.3 second per chi spender cast. For more information on how strong this legendary is, see the Legendary Guide Page.

E

Effuse

Windwalker’s casted heal, can be used on self or friendly target. Doesn’t heal for a lot, but its better than nothing when the alternative is death. Give your healers a helping hand when you don’t need the Energy for damage, or even if you do, but you want to survive more. You do no DPS when you’re dead.

 

The Emperor’s Capacitor

Legendary Chest. Chi spending abilities provide a stacking buff that increases the damage of Crackling Jade Lightning by 100% per stack as well as decreasing its energy cost by 5% per stack, stacking up to a maximum of 20 times. Energizing Elixir

Level 45 Talent. Fills your Energy bar and gives you your maximum Chi. Can provide up to 11 Chi worth of Energy and Chi. Energy

Windwalker’s primary resource. Turned into Chi by Tiger Palm, and powers a few other abilities. Generated at a rate of 10 Energy per second modified by Haste. 10% Haste = 1 Energy per second.

 

Eye of the Tiger

Level 15 Talent. Puts a magic debuff on the target of your Tiger Palm that does ticking magic damage. For information on how strong this talent is, check out the Talent Guide Page.

 

F

Fists of Fury

One of Windwalker’s main damaging abilities. Does damage to all targets inside of a cone in front of you. Deals 100% damage to each target hit. For information on where this falls in the Rotation/Priority check out the Rotation/Priority Guide Page.

 

Fists of the Heavens

Windwalker’s Artifact weapon. Two fist weapons, one equipment slot. For more information about how to get it, and what it does, check out WoWhead’s WW artifact Guide, and Peak’s Artifact Guide Page.

 

Flying Serpent Kick

Windwalker’s fastest and farthest movement speed ability (beside’s Transcendence/Transcendence: Transfer). When used a second time after you’re already moving, you will stop where you are and deal damage. Can be used to keep up Hit Combo and Mastery: Combo Strikes and to deal extra damage when other abilities are on cooldown and you don’t need to spend Chi or Energy.

Haste

Secondary stat. Increases energy regeneration at a rate of 1 Energy per second per 10% haste, reduces cast and channel speed of all abilities with cast/channel times, and reduces the cooldown time of most of our abilities with cooldowns. Healing Elixir

Level 75 Talent. Provides on-use healing for 15% of your maximum health. Will also trigger automatically if your health drops below 35%, but will not save you if the hit would take you from above 35% to dead. For information on how strong this talent is, check out the Talent Guide Page.

 

Hidden Master’s Forbidden Touch

Legendary Gloves. Allows you to cast a second Touch of Death on a second target within 5s of the first. Increases the damage of your Touch of Death‘s base damage by 40%. For more information on how strong this legendary is, see the Legendary Guide Page.

 

Hit Combo

Level 90 Talent. Gives a stacking passive buff that increases damage by 2% per stack. Stacks are generated by not repeating abilities. Insignia of the Grand Army

Legendary Ring. Attained via Antorus/Argus questline. Increases the effect of any Netherlight Crucible relic traits by 50%. For information on how strong this legendary is, see our Legendary Guide Page.

 

Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger

Level 90 Talent. Summons Xuen, affectionately named “Kenny”. He does single target damage with his claws and casts lightning on up to three targets. For information on how strong this talent is, check out the Talent Guide Page.

Kil’jaeden’s Burning Wish

Leg Sweep

Level 60 Talent. Knocks down all enemies within 5 yards. Very useful when stuns are needed. Can be used to proc Sephuz. For more information on how strong this talent is, see the Talent Guide Page.

Mastery

Paralysis

Windwalker’s main, long duration, CC ability. Incapacitates target for 1 minute.

 

Potions

Usable items to provide damage boosts. Ideally used immediately before a fight is started, and again later in the fight when you will get the most benefit, called “double potting”. For information on what Potions Windwalkers should be using, see our Consumables Guide Page.

 

Power Strikes

Level 45 talent. After 15s, Tiger Palm will generate a 3rd Chi. If you do not have room for a 3rd Chi, the proc will postpone itself until you can. For information on how strong this talent is, see the Talent Guide Page.

 

Priority

Term used to describe how Windwalkers decide which ability to cast as we do not follow a “rotation”. For information on what abilities fall in the priority

 

Provoke

Windwalker’s Taunt. Causes the target to come attack you. Also increases the taunted target’s movement speed by 50% for a few seconds.

 

Prydaz, Xavaric’s Magnum Opus
