Plaguefall | Brewmaster Guide
Welcome to the Brewmaster Guide to Plaguefall! This guide will cover notable trash mobs and abilities as well as Brewmaster-specific boss strategies and tips. It is important to note that these guides are meant to be an entry into mid-higher level keystones from a Brewmaster-only perspective. They are by no means a comprehensive guide of every mechanic or ability that you will find in a dungeon, but instead offer need-to-know information for a Brewmaster wanting to get into pushing higher key levels. For a more complete, beginner-friendly overview of this dungeon, check out the Plaguefall Dungeon Strategy Guide on Wowhead.
Fungalmancer – Casts Wonder Grow (interruptible) and Binding Fungus (not interruptible or stunnable). Assign yourself to interrupt Wonder Grows, and Tiger’s Lust the player affected by Binding Fungus, if talented.
Fungi Stormer – Casts Fungistorm, which does channeled party damage. Leg sweep/Paralyze to stop the channel. Knocks such as Ring of Peace will not stop the channel.
Plagueroc – Casts Wing Buffet at the tank, which can be sidestepped. Face it away from other party members.
Decaying Flesh Giant – Casts Creepy Crawlers, which summons several small adds. Interrupt if possible.
Beckon Slime will summon three small slimes, and one big one. The big one always spawns near the boss, out in the slime pool on the edge of the platform. You will always want to crowd-control this mob, so use Paralysis or have another party member use theirs. Make sure you communicate with your party so that you don’t run out of crowd-control, and don’t forget to refresh yours before it runs out, as the adds will stay crowd-controlled for the entire fight.
Aside from basic mechanics like dodging the Slime Wave frontal, your main job will be movement of the boss to keep the little adds from hitting him. Try to keep him on the edge of the platform, and kite around in a circle when they get close.
Blighted Spinebreaker – Has a fixed frontal called Festering Belch, point it away and sidestep it.
Plaguebinder – Casts Gripping Infection which can be interrupted, dispelled by the healer, or Tiger’s Lusted.
Rotmarrow Slime – Casts Corrosive Gunk, which leaves a stacking DoT on the party. Assign an interrupt order for these casts. This is what the majority of the party should be focused on interrupting.
Rotting Slimeclaw – Casts Corroded Claws, which cannot be interrupted, but can be stunned/crowd-controlled without it re-casting. If it gets off, it leaves a disease debuff on you, so make sure you dispel yourself.
Make sure that you are always in melee range of this boss, or he will cast Burning Strain.
When he leaps away, he will throw a Plague Bomb out, and cast Pestilence Surge, which will summon a purple Congealed Slime.
The DPS need to turn and focus down the bomb slime immediately, before it detonates. You will need to tank the Congealed Slime at least 7 yards away from that bomb, due to Congealed Contagion. It is very important that the bomb does not get this aura, so that it can be killed before detonating.
Once the bombed slime is killed, DPS can focus the Congealed Slime, then Ickus.
Slime Tentacle – This is a fixed mob, so naturally it will do party-wide damage if the tank is not in range. Make sure you’re in melee range, and watch your party carefully as you’re navigating this area to make sure they don’t pull any extra tentacles that they don’t see.
Defender of Many Eyes – Channels Bulwark of Maldraxxus, Leg Sweep or Paralyze the channel to stop it, or move other mobs out of the bubble
Venomous Sniper – Casts a frontal cone called Venompiercer, make sure to face it away from the party.
Brood Ambusher – This mob will cast Stealthlings and summon a large number of small adds nearby that will sit in stealth and slowly cast Ambush. When you see the Stealthlings cast go off, move around with Rushing Jade Wing/Spinning Crane Kick and try to find them and pull them out of stealth. Have your party kill the adds before the cast finishes, or you can use things like Ring of Peace, dropped between them and the party member they are targetting right as their cast goes off, to stop their Ambush from absolutely mauling one of your party members.
This boss will give any party member a debuff when they are not within 6 yards of an ally. After 8 seconds, that player will be encased in a Web Wrap, which will stun them until the wrap is killed.
The party should stack up and move together when necessary. Make sure you have all charges of Roll/Torpedo for when Domina summons the Shroudwebs. As bremwasters, we should be able to get most, if not all, of the Shroudwebs ourselves within the 8 second window, and make it back to the party. If there is a single one that spawns far away, have the next most mobile player run out to get it. Roll/Torpedo through all of the Shroudwebs to break the adds out, and make sure to join back up with your party before you get Web Wrapped.
Make sure to Detox Cytotoxic Slash off yourself.
Plaguebound Devoted – These mobs move VERY slowly and hit VERY hard. You can easily stay just outside their melee range and spam keg smashes on them to keep aggro, but do not face-tank these.
Ickor Bileflesh – He will leap between the three packs and aggro them. Just make sure you pick up aggro on the new packs that he engages, or your melee might end up on the floor. He also casts Oozing Carcass on a slow timer, one melee should be able to interrupt it every time.
This is a relatively simple fight for us. Make sure not to stand in the slime pool in the middle of the room (this includes chi-torpedoing into it on accident).
The boss will spawn an add called Malignant Spawn that will cast Touch of Slime. Make sure as soon as the add spawns that you move over to it, as you (and only you) will need to soak the circle.
The boss will channel Infectious Rain, which leaves a stacking disease debuff on the party. Make sure to use Detox on someone to minimize the damage your healer has to heal. I like to ask which player they prefer me to dispel, but if they don’t care or are not in voice, I will typically just dispel the lowest-health target when the channel finishes.
Beyond that, the fight is just dodging tentacles. The best way to set yourself up for success for this is to move immediately when the first tentacle spawns, and stand next to it. There are several different patterns that the tentacles can do, but you will always put yourself in a good position by moving to the first tentacle to spawn (if it’s not one of the half-the-room patterns) and standing just next to it, then moving into the safe spot after it slams.
